Q ) How do I get saorview?
A ) You need an UHF aerial a Television with a builtin tuner it not a saorview box.
Q ) Do I need an aerial for saorview?
A ) Yes a UHF Aerial is necessary out is best but indoor can work well in some areas.
Q: Is equipment and installation included in price?
A: Yes. The price includes equipment & Installation., All cabling and fixing, Dish Alignment and Signal Tuning.
Q: Is it a one time only payment?

Q: Can I get the Irish stations, RTÉ One, RTE Two, TV3 and TG4?
A: Yes. These channels are available with the Saorview Pack and with the Combined Saorview and Freeview Pack. To receive these channels your engineer will install the new Digital RTÉ antenna. This is a small 3ft antenna which sits alongside your satellite dish will also give you RTE News Now. RTE Jnr. RTE+1 & in January you will receive UTV Ireland.
Q: Is it legal?
A: Yes. Saorview and Freeview is a term to describe satellite signals which you can legally receive without a subscription. Free to Air Satellite programming is encoded with MPEG 2 but is not encrypted and, therefore, freely available. Hence the term Free to Air or Freeview. The Saorview signal is received free on an aerial and is free to all users in Ireland leagal. When you pay your TV licence fee.
Q: What is the cost?
A: Satellite Pack costs €199. Saorview Pack including channels RTÉ 1, RTÉ 2,, TV3 and TG4 costs €195. Combined UK and world Package costs €299. Combo Plus €450
Q: If there is no signal / poor signal what happens?
A: Your engineer will check the signal and confirm a good quality signal prior to installation. If the satellite signal is poor or unsatisfactory, the installation will not proceed and no charge will be made. A signal is received in over 65% of cases.
Q: Where are my Dish / Aerial placed ?
A: Your engineer will install your dish and/or aerial at the rear or side of your house. where the signal is available. your engineer will discuss all options before proceeding and with your agreement he will proceed to install.
Q ) Whats is free-to-air tv?
Free-to-air is a term used to describe satellite television channels that are un-encrypted and as such available without a subscription. All you need to receive these channels is a dish and satellite receiver. Radio channels are also available on free-to-air receivers.
Q ) What is Freesat?
Freesat is a joint venture between BBC and ITV.
Official Freesat receivers automatically update if a channel changes frequency unlike generic free-to-air receivers including combo box’s which need to be manually re-tuned. Also, unlike their generic counterparts, they have a full 7 day EPG(electronic programme guide) and their channel lists are broken up into genres ie-Entertaiment, news, kids, etc.
Official Freesat+ boxes are available to perform the same way as Sky+boxes with pause, rewind, record and series link. Please note that there are no Irish channels on Freesat boxes./p>
Q ) What is Saorview?
Saorview is the new free digital terrestrial Tv service in Ireland that has replaced the old analogue service that was switched off on Oct 24th 2012. Currently there is 8 tv channels as well as radio stations. Saorview is received through an aerial. Saorview can be combined with a satellite system to provide a much bigger selection of channels.
Q ) My tv is not Saorview compatible or approved, what system should I go for?
In this situation you may prefer to go with a combo system giving you UK free-to-air channels and Irish channels on the one box via the one remote control. Alternatively you could use an official freesat box and separate saorview box.
Alternatively you could go with Combo box witch would have both Saorview and free-to-air on the one remote.
Q ) If I want to get the channels in the other room do I need another box?
Yes. You need a box for each tv.
Q ) I have a satellite system but have lost the signal and need it sorted. Do you provide this service?

Q ) Is it possible to record on combo boxes?
Yes. Our combos are PVR ready. This means you can add an external hard drive via usb port on the box for recording. We can supply and set this up for you for an additional €80.
